VISION DEVELOPMENT &
NEURO-VISUAL REHABILITATION

Improving Lives by Improving Vision

Welcome to the Vision Development Centre at Napanee Family Eyecare & Kingston Optometry. Our doctors and staff dedicate each day to helping our patients improve their visual abilities. Through principles of neuro-science, we deliver innovative optometric vision therapy for visual development, eye alignment, rehabilitation, and sports vision training.

Vision therapy can help people of all ages. With our personalized programs, we effectively treat learning-related vision disorders, double or blurry vision, and visual disorders related to brain injuries and concussions. We also offer vision therapy programs to improve visual performance in athletes.

To find out if you or your child may have symptoms of a visual disorder, please review our symptoms survey here.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please contact us at (343) 333-2211.

VISUAL PROCESSING

Visual perception refers to the brain’s ability to make sense of what the eyes see. These skills are important for many every day skills such as reading, writing, cutting, drawing, completing puzzles, math, dressing, finding objects on the bedroom floor as well as many other skills.

SPORTS VISION

Strong visual skills are critical to sports success. Our eyes instruct our hands and body as to what to do! Testing and training of visual skills ensures optimal athletic performance. This includes 3D vision, tracking skills, peripheral vision, visual memory, and reaction time.

Vision can be compromised as a result of neurological disorders or trauma to the nervous system. This can include double or blurred vision, light sensitivity, visual-vestibular integration (dizziness and balance disorders) and binocular vision disorders.
